Hi all,

I would like to upgrade from "AMD Wraith Prism Cooler" to "Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4 Pro" or "Noctua NH-D15" but I'm concerned about dimensions.

I'm trying to stick the new cooler into an Empire Gaming Diamond (https://www.amazon.fr/EMPIRE-GAMING-Plexiglas-Ventilateurs-Adressables/dp/B07ZRXPKXY) which specifies 160mm max CPU cooler height.

The "Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4 Pro" (https://www.bequiet.com/en/cpucooler/1378) specifies 163mm height and the "Noctua NH-D15" (https://noctua.at/en/nh-d15/specification) specifies 165mm height. Further, I tried to reverse-engineer the actual height the case allows. I measured the distance from the Wraith Prism I have installed properly to where the glass side panel would lie which resulted in the following calculation: AMD Wraith Prism (https://www.ldlc.com/en/product/PB00466764.html) 93mm + 69.64mm dead space = 162.64mm.

Based on those calculations, the CPU coolers I'd like to upgrade to won't fit in my current case but I've already discovered that the 160mm max height of my case doesn't align perfectly with what I can measure. I'm not sure to what degree I can trust the measurements and if they are being overstated, realistic, or understated. Has anyone tried to cut it that close with dimensions - good experiences, bad experiences?

I appreciate any feedback, thanks!

Best!

Hi, Lafong, thanks for you reply!

Thanks for mentioning this one, I will consider it.

The store I plan on buying from does offer returns so I can go that route.

I will mark your reply as a solution until and if I test the coolers I originally proposed.
