So I've bought a be quiet pure rock slim cpu cooler to fit into rog strix b350-f motherboard, and some for reason, the bracket of a cpu cooler doesn't align with the motherboard screw-in holes. The description of this cpu cooler does say it is compatible, AM4 and all.

What am I missing here? Did I do an oopies?

Get ahold bequite tech support and or return it if local.
I don't know what the price difference between what you have and a corsair is, but i can say just about all corsair coolers come with
Intel and amd brackets.
I have 2x. H110i 1-on 2600x, 1on fx8350 and a h100iv2 on fx6300.
The i in the model means it's ran by software to adjust pump and fan speeds and supply other info.
I like the h110i version as it attaches to the stock retention brackets of the mobo.
The h100i non v2 is like the h110i
The v2 version has to attach to thread stand offs screwed into the cpu mobo backplate so some disassembling required.
The h110i is 280mm rad 2x140mm fans.
The h100i is 240mm rad 2x 120mm.
If you case supports 2800mm
The h110i can handle the...

No other metal brackets, just the one set already attached to the cpu cooler and they don't fit. I'm not sure which cpu cooler to get now, since most listings doesn't tell it fits into your motherboard or not.

The h110i can handle the 2700x no problem.
Better to have more cooling then not enough.
