Need a cooler for the 2700x. I was thinking of the Corsair h100i v2 and replacing the fans but got scared of leaks and so on .

Case only allows 156 mm for cpu cooler according to the corsair site.

Would replacing the fan with 2x Noctua a12x25 be a good idea ?

This means I'm pretty much only buying it for the heatsink tho.

and should I have it move the air from the front to the back or from the GPU to the top and add an exhaust fan there?

Unless you're going to run it flat out 24/7 the stock Wraith is easily good enough it runs hotter than either a decent AIO or full liquid loop but it's surprisingly quiet, even under sustained load.
History: My 2700X was under a full custom loop but the previous GPU died, and I'm having trouble finding a full cover waterblock for the new GTX1080Ti Aorus, so, in the interim I'm running the system under all air cooling, including the stock Wraith Spire CPU cooler.

The wraith spire was extremely loud for me. Sounded like a bloody jet engine. it was always at 2000+ rpm even when idle and not doin anything.

For now, I think I'll replace it with cryorig H7 and perhaps switch the fans to noctua later on.

Should I go for a more expensive/better one then ?

Main issue is that the better ones might not fit in the case.
