CPU cooler for athlon II x2

I'm am looking to get an aftermarket cooler for my Athlon II x2 240. I was looking at the Hyper 212 Plus (micro center for under 30) but my question is would it be safe to travel with? I am worried about damaging cpu and/or cooler while driving to a friends house. Would a shorter cooler, less top heavy, be a better alternative (something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118047 .)

The Hyper 212 Plus would be a fine cooler. If you are worried about damage in transport, just make sure you lay the case on its side with the cooler sticking up (like you would when you are installing the mobo and cooler) and you shouldn't have any problems.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

The Hyper 212+ is the best option for price/performance, few weeks ago I bought one for my X4 955.
