Build Advice CPU cooler for Ryzen 9 7900x

What is the make and model of your case? Make and model of your ram? Model for your MSI branded motherboard? Budget for your cooler? Your location and your preferred site for purchase?

Yes your hardware will bring up clearance issues if not mentioned.

AMD's X SKUs are designed to run up to the 95C thermal limit rather than being bound by TDP. That means you could pretty much use any cooler you want to and it will run, but that doesn't mean you will get the best performance out of it. As for what you should be buying it will depend on how much room you have to deal with, how much you want to spend and where you're located as availability varies wildly. If you're looking at something smaller then you should consider getting the 7900 instead of the 7900X. I don't have a ton of first hand experience on new air coolers, but I do have a Thermalright Peerless Assassin installed on a machine here and would certainly recommend Thermalright.

I would suggest the Deepcool AK620 or Thermalright Phantom Spirit.
