Hi everyone,

I'm quite confused about CPU cooler height vs Depth, can anyone help in clarifying this please?

I've been looking at the Noctua NH-C14 and it says 'height with fan 130mm, depth with fan 166mm' which has confused me a lot. The case I'm using is this :

I'm looking for a quiet, high performance low profile CPU cooler which doesn't block any RAM slots and fits in this case.

Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks for your time.

You'll be OK on the height. You need to look at the clearance on your motherboard for the width. It normally tells you on the motherboard manual or you could find out the make and model of the motherboard and look on PCParkpicker to see how others have got along with that motherboard + the Noctua cooler.

Or let me know your motherboard and I'll see what I can find out!

Thank you for the clarification and speedy reply!

The motherboard I'm using is an Asus M5A97 evo 2.0, just had a check on PCPartpicker (thanks for that!) and I think the cooler should be fine. Also any alternatives would be welcomed as well if you know of any?

I was going to go for a Noctua NH-L12 but it blocks a RAM slot :/

Thanks again .
