[SOLVED] CPU cooler recommendation

I'm in the process of rebuilding a new pc to replace an older build I did in 2015. What I'm keeping from the old build is this Rosewill bronze series 1000W PSU, 3 SSD, 1 WD Black 1TB. All going into Cooler Master Haf X case. Going upgrade MB. CPU, CPU cooler, ram and GPU. Here is the issue I'm having I want to buy an Intel Core i7-10700K Comet Lake 8-Core 3.8 GHz LGA 1200 125W Desktop Processor w/ Intel UHD Graphics 630 But wondering if a Corsair Hydro Series H80i V2 Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm CW-9060024-WW is enough to keep it cool? I know if I went with a 10900K I would probably need a bigger CPU cooler than the one listed above I think. But if you guys think the Corsair cooler listed above is enough to cool 10900K then I would go with 10900K instead.

If you're going for an AIO water cooler, I would argue to go with a 240mm sized rad at the minimum. 120mm rad AIOs don't perform that much better than a high-end air cooler that you can buy for less.

These "mini" (single fan) water cooler are actually worse than good air coolers. If you wish water cooling then 240mm is a minimum (280mm being more serious choice). I suggest you do a research on YouTube reviews before making any decision.

According to that chart right above the specs list, 240mm fits up top.
What I'm unsure about is whether that will be enough for both the cpu and the gpu together...

Currently using 980TI But with the current-gen GPU still having stock issues I will have to wait it out until I buy one. The GPU going to be air-cooled and CPU will AIO cooler.

I can tell you that a 10850k gets REALLY hot if you overclock all cores, so keep that in consideration. I was seeing that CPU pushing high 80's/low 90's Celsius on all 10 cores at 5.0 ghz on 360 AIOs. This is the reason I had to back down to 4.6 ghz for cooler testing...it would melt smaller coolers and be impossible to test.

However, if you'll never overclock, you could probably get by on a 240 if you had no other choice.

That's... not really an overclock for that cpu. More like an over... downclock?

10850K: take the 10900K and subtract 100mhz across the board.

10900k all core overclocked@1.33v pulls around 320watts. So I would be looking at a 360mm or 420mm radiator. Stock is 130watts so 240mm radiator.

you probably will need to remove the drive bays, but otherwise should fit

240 rad for sure or you'll get buyers remorse

if you don't want to remove the drive bays then a good old Noctua D-14 or 15 would do it
