Hi,

I'm planning on building a new pc, and i'm wondering if the be quiet! dark rock pro 4 cooler is compatible with the gigabyte z390 gaming x mobo?
I'm planning to use 2 ram slots. Also not sure if anyone has tried it yet, but would the cooler fit in a coolermaster masterbox mb520 case? I've read that the case supports coolers up to 165 mm, and the bequiet is 163 mm tall, so it seems a bit close.

(also sorry for any mistakes, this is my second time building a pc)

The front fan does sit over the ram.

As long as you avoid ram taller than 40mm, you should have no issues fitting it in that chassis.

I have that cooler and it's BIG. My case can take a cooler up to 170mm in height, the the Dark Rock 4 Pro is literally about 5 or 6 mm from the glass. So it fits, but only just. Looks to be a closer call in your case, so the only thing you can do is try and make sure you have a good return policy for the cooler.

Corsair LPX RAM works very nicely with this cooler, you can still fit and remove modules with the cooler mounted.

thank you, I'll check that out.

Is it good enough to cool an i7 9700k? (I'm thinking about overclocking in the future)

I would say yes it is, the default fan profile is geared towards silence but can be overruled.

Will allow overclocking upto a point, the 9700k is a very heavy tdp cpu once overclocked.
