CPU cooler smells like burned plastic

I'm asking about a smell from the CPU cooler, it's a cooler master hyper d92, i install it 3 weeks ago, and i been sensing a smell like burned plastic, i check the psu and the graphics card and ther aren't, could it be that i applied wrong the thermal grease? I use the computer a 3 hours pet day and it's working fine, any idea? I'm new at this and my english it's bad too, i hope you understand my cuestión. Thanks

Did you take the film off of the contact plate between the CPU and the cooler?

Did you check that there wasn't a plastic cover on the contact plate? Thermal paste won't smell like burned plastic, if it's hot enough to burn, there would be smokey smell, and visible charring.

Yes i remove it

Are you absolutely certain that the smell is coming from the CPU cooler? If you are really concerned about something overheating, I would take the system apart, including removing the PSU from the case, and take each component one by one to a different room to smell them individually.

On the other hand it may just be a "new electronics smell".

I check the CPU, and the graphics card, also if a wire was in touch with something hot, and nothing, could it be the dust or something like that? After 3 hours of use i smell the cooler and i think that the smell is coming from there
