Cpu cooler sounds like a vacuum cleaner

Greetings,

I cleaned my cpu cooler after 2 years with cotton bud. I found a lot of black dust and hair on it.

When I boot the cpu cooler started sounding lile a vacuum cleaner. Not loud like a vacuum cleaner but the type of noise is similar to it. It didn't sound like that before cleaning it.

Then I opened the case and stopped the CPU fan with my fingers. After I removed my fingers the cpu cooler restarted working but the noise is 20% less loud now. I can still easily hear it though.

It feels like the cpu cooler is working on higher rpm after cleaning the dust.

The cpu cooler is an Intel stock one. Moreover, the cpu was purchased in 2010

I am looking forward to your advice regarding ways I can fix that noise.

the bearing is probably loose - the collection of hair/dust was probably keeping it from wobbling - good news is there is a plethora of intel heatsinks with fans on ebay - should be able to catch one for $5
