Hello Everyone,

I have a 4770K that for the longest time I was running a stock cooler on the unit. I know that was not the point of owning a unlocked CPU.

Recently I have been having some temp spikes in the cpu temps so I am not sure if the stock cooler is starting to fail or if I just need to reapply new thermal paste. Because of this it has me thinking about getting a new air cooler to help with thermals overall and start to look at overclocking the chip as well. Probably this fall I am considering looking at the Cooler Master H500P once it is released based on reviews.

I am looking for some input of air coolers to look at based on the case and setup I have below.

PC Specs:
CPU: i7 4770K
RAM: Corsair LPX memory
GPU: Asus GTX 1070 Strix
Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 7

Case: Corsair 600T
Fan Overview
Front: 200mm - Intake
Top: 200mm - Exhaust
Side: 2 x 120mm - Intake
Rear: 1 x 120mm - Exhaust

For those who are familiar with the case I have the lower drive cages moved the the 2nd position that is away from the front 200mm intake fan and am only using 1 cage to help air flow.

Thanks,

I did actually start looking into the Cryorig cooler and the Be Quiet ones but have seen several complaints about mounting the Be Quiet coolers. I know Noctuas would be the quietest and seem to be the gold standard but not a fan of the aesthetics of them is all.

Yeah, that's mostly due to height and RAM constraints which people don't check often...
Noctua's color schemes and pricing is silly though, Be Quiet can be similar with their Dark Rock 3 series.
The Cryorig H5 is the best choice for you imo, make sure it's the H5 Universal for RAM clearance, the Ultimate is practically identical, only 1-2c cooler.

Worth looking at the R1 from Cryorig? Might be overkill since it is rated for a TDP of 250 but I know from watching videos on overclocking a 4770K it can produce a lot of heat. Just not sure if double the price is worth the benefits of maybe running 5-6 C cooler at loads from some of the testing I am seeing.
