Hello everyone i have a question my CPU cooler doesn't go above 2000rpm while heavy gaming why is that? the maximum RPM that my cooler can go (according to intel's website) is 2500 my CPU cooler is a E41759-002. Is there something with the voltages or something else? The fan speed is set to Auto from BIOS

Thank you

It might be that they just posted that number on their website,, while it really only goes to 2000 or the low 2000s.

I think the main thing is....what are the temps while heavy gaming?

If the temps are good....I might be glad my fan is only at 2000 because it will be quieter than it wold be at 2500.

If you didn't see my answer above temps are above 90C more specifically 99C...

I posted before I saw that.

The first thing I would do....is run with the case open and see what the temps look like.
This will give you an idea regarding your case cooling.
If the temps don't change much with the case open....I wouldn't change anything with the case cooling.

If the temps are still that high with the case open.....I think there is a problem with your cooler.....and I don't think that necessarily it is that it isn't going to 2500 RPM.

It may be mounted loose. This is one of the biggest problems I see people having with coolers. They need to be snug. Not cranked, but snug....to where it shouldn't move when you apply reasonable force to it.

I would check this.....and run with the case open first as I mentioned.

I just had my case opened like 10 min ago and it didn't make much of a difference like 3 degrees lower. My CPU cooler is very snug it doesn't move at all.

Edit: I haven't replaced my tower so im pretty sure its the case cooling this tower is from 2009 sooo i should buy a new case

Age doesn't matter in the slightest. If a case has good airflow characteristics, it doesn't matter if it's 6 weeks old or 6 years old, it'll have the same characteristics. A new case will not solve overheating issues when you have a cpu cooler that's too small for the job.

You have an old Intel lga1156 type cooler. That was back before either Intel or AMD gave a **** about your cooling solutions. As long as the cooler kept temps at under throttle while on normal loads of light Photoshop, Adobe, Office, websurfing, it was good enough. Gaming is extreme loads, not normal loads, putting a seriously higher amount of stress, voltages, heat output on the cpu. And you expect a chinsy stock cooler built for grandma's web surfer to be adequate?

  1. Figure out airflow. That means decent intake fan/s and decent exhaust fan/s with an appropriate fan curve setting.
  2. Get a cooler that's bigger and better than appropriate for the job.

You haven't said what cpu, but a minimum would be a cryorig H7, Deepcool Gammax GT, Thermalright Macho Rev.b etc.

A good cpu cooler can drop those load temps 40°C

Hahaha. Ok ill keep in mind what you said. Oh yeah i forgot the CPU i have is an I5 750. For an I5 750 cooler what do you suggest?

CPU Cooler: RAIJINTEK - AIDOS BLACK 48.6 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($24.88 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Deepcool - GAMMAXX 400 74.34 CFM CPU Cooler ($24.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - M9i 48.4 CFM CPU Cooler ($40.48 @ OutletPC)
CPU Cooler: Deepcool - GAMMAXX GT 29.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($39.99 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition 57.3 CFM CPU Cooler ($39.99 @ Amazon)

Some may fit in your case, some may not. Depends entirely on how much clearance your case has for the cpu cooler.

Yeah true. Thank you for suggesting me CPU coolers ill see which one i will buy. Do you think Hyper EVO 212 would be good also?

Yes and no. It's equitable to the much smaller Raijintek Aidos in performance, even the 92mm cryorig m9i beats it, it sits 160mm high and the fan sounds like a freight train when it speeds up. Apart from a miserable mounting system. The new 212Black is a much better design in every way, even if maintaining the 160mm height.

But it will work far better than that stock cooler.
