cpu cooling problem?

I recently purchased a pc from cyberpowerpc. The computer is running well, and I can play some games (skyrim, fifa15, etc..) very smoothly at highest settings. However, one problem is troubling me: the cpu temperature seems unusually high. It is around 45C at idle (and 40C on linux) and over 65C at gaming. And the cpu is not overclocked.

What could be the possible problems? Another thing is that the motherboard temp is a lot lower ( usually under 35C).

Some specs:
Cooler: Coolmaster Seidon 120M
MB: M5A97 LE R2.0
CPU: FX8320
GPU: R9 290x
Power Supply: no idea about the brand, cyberpower says standard PSU. 600W

Thanks!

I think the Tj Maxx of that chip is 65 degrees so I would be uncomfortable too. Can you try to replace the thermal compound with high quality paste such as arctic silver 5 or arctic mx 4? Enough case fans in your system? Dust out your system?

gpu temp is similar, 45C at idle. I actually always leave the side panel removed.

Now I turn off the Q-fan control in bios, and now the temp is around 60 while playing fifa 15. However, temp at idle is still high.

Only one case fan on the back of the case. Could it be the problem? The back case fan is covered by the radiator of the cooler, so it looks like there isn't much air intake.

It is a new pc, there doesn't seem to be any dust inside.

you can try to replace the thermal paste on your cooler. The best way to install it is to make a dot approximately as big as a cooked grain of rice. I recommend Arctic MX 4

I followed your suggestions by installing two additional case fans and replacing the thermal compound. For unknown reasons, the low-load temp is still high (around 40C on win7). But the temp with high load is only 55C now, and actually it is usually only around 52C for Fifa 15.

I guess my cooling system is too crappy. Probably I should replace it with hyper 212 EVO in the future.

edit:
The problem could also be that cyberpowerpc replaced the fan of CM seidon 120M. I looked at the back of the radiator, the fan seems to be enermax. I read some reviews online saying that CM seidon 120M is hard to install due to an oversized fan (my case is pretty small), and so cyberpowerpc just used another fan. But anyway. I guess the current temp is safe enough.
