Title says it all really, I unparked my cores with the program from Coderbag.com and when I go into my resource monitor after restarting 4-5 cores are still showing up parked.

CPU - FX-8350
Operating System - Windows 10

Why do people keep doing this? leave them alone. Do you not think that if AMD had determined that 'parking and unparking' would improve performance they'd have released some kind of patch or driver? And not someone who dumps stuff on coderbag.com do you even know what you downloaded? Do you know exactly what it does? and that this is all that it does? Who's reputation will be damaged if it turns out to have a payload, no-ones, so do you feel lucky.

What are you talking about. AMD has no control over what Windows does. Windows parks cores mainly for laptops, it saves on power but for people using Desktops it stays enabled.
The program is widely used by tons of people, I'm sure at this point a programmer would have pointed out that their was an issue. Especially when hundreds of thousands or more people use it to unpark there cores.

Don't be a jerk next time.

AMD does have control over what windows does, they are called drivers, that's what they do. The provide instructions to hardware from software. So Now tell me again why AMD hasn't fixed this if it is actually a problem.

The ancillary question to this is, 'What problem are you trying to solve with parking/unparking outside of windows control'

Why are you even arguing with me over a innocent question I had? Are you having that bad of a day where you have to go onto a forum clip on a thread where someone is asking for help and basically call them an idiot?
I could see many possible reasons why AMD hadn't fixed this. Gaming laptops use AMD CPUs all the time, it helps save battery life if you put some cores to sleep.

Now please, leave this thread alone. I'd like some real help, thanks.

Still makes no sense to me. The gaming laptop example doesn't work.

What actual problem are you trying to fix by doing this?

Black Ops on PC has CPU related issues. One of the fixes online was to unpark your cores and it apparently worked perfectly for lots of people, but I can't see to get them unparked with the program he showed.

It fixes stuttering, low FPS, spikes, etc.

And are any of your cores in a parked state whilst gaming? Or even just idle? Is your PC set to high power profile?

Solution

I just set my profile to high, I reinstalled Windows and forgot about that.
I'm going to try running a game and see what happens.
Do I have to restart after selecting a new power profile?

They haven't 'fixed this', because there is no actual issue.

Now...what problem are you actually trying to solve?

The game works fine now, thanks for reminding me about the power options.
Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I was enjoying the game lag free for the first time...

Hello, I already got the problem resolved. Thanks for replying though <3
