[SOLVED] cpu core speed keeps changing

Hi,

I recently installed a new 5600x and saw on CPU-Z that the core speed keeps jumping from 3600mhz to 4600mhz and was wondering if this was normal.

What's the PC doing while you're seeing these fluctuations?

Its all the time not during something specific. someone gave an answer already but thanks for responding anyways

At the same vein in case you're looking at the speed some more, it's also normal for the clock speed to go below base speeds if nothing's going on. This is to save power. It'll bump back up when something needs the CPU.
