[SOLVED] cpu cores 6 / 12t or 8 / 16t

Hi, I have ryzen 5 3600 in my build, I did not go for 3700x for budget reasons and both offered the same performance in gaming,
With the ps5 coming with a 8 core / 16t, will the future games need or run well with 8 core CPUs? , How much of a difference in performance will be there between my ryzen 5 3600 and the upcoming ps5 with 8 core?.

I highly doubt it. Most games are still getting accustomed to 6 c / 12 t...

The Ryzen 5 3600 will last you for a good while, don't bother getting a 8 c / 16 t now unless you're streaming or doing some other type of work that requires such resources.

At least wait for the Zen 3 Ryzens. Even then, I would still hold onto the 3600. It's still a fantastic gaming CPU.

6c/12t is still plenty....

Folks were screaming 3 years ago how in a years time it would be 8 cores minimum....

The performance of the R5-3600 and even the 3300X's reuslts show that even 4c/8t still has a bit of usefulness remaining...
