Hello, everyone. I am looking for advice on upgrading my CPU and GPU.
Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next 2 weeks
Budget Range: $400 - 500, After Shipping/Rebates
System Usage: Gaming, more than anything else
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: CPU and GPU
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon or anywhere that offers free shipping to APO (will obviously buy elsewhere if there are no other options)
Location: South Korea (US Military / APO AP)
Parts Preferences: AMD for CPU; No preference for GPU
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Additional Comments: Games I most frequently play:
It started with wanting only a new CPU, which is bottlenecking my FPS in PUBG (Link to original thread here: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/pubg-fps-w-rx-580.3794522/)
However, now I am wondering if I might as well get a GPU too. I have never played any games that are too demanding, and I doubt that will ever change. Still, based on the thread I linked above, I am not okay with FPS that is barely above 60 at 1080p; certainly not okay with the occasional dips below that. For CPU, I am fairly confident that I want the Ryzen 7 5700X; but I am open to other suggestions. For the GPU, I have been seduced by the Intel Arc A750 (especially as the drivers improve and the price has dropped to $250). I also realize that the majority opinion seems to be to play it safe with something tried and tested, such as an RX 6600.
