CPU Crashing Computer?

For some reason when I play HL2 Cinematic Mod my computer crashes....Now I thought that it was my CPU overheating. So I cleaned it applied new thermal paste of course and it's still crashing..But! when I play GTA 5 on all high with an enb I can play for hours with no crashes. I've gotten to the point where I don't know what to do I looked it up. Everyone says "Overheating" but my CPU temps aren't even that bad. Also my CPU is a AMD A10-5800K I also have a 970, 8 gigs of ram. Someone help me out please Maybe it's a bug with HL2? I don't really know....this has never EVER happened before. It only happens when I play HL2. Gmod doesn't crash and I play that for HOURS.

If the game worked fine before at some point, try doing a system restore to a time before the crashing started. Maybe a driver updated started the issues. Try uninstalling the nVidia drivers and install an older version.

What temperatures are you in fact getting?

Core Temp says I get 20-30 when watching Youtube and when I'm playing HL2 it says 40-50. Is there a different CPU temp program cause I don't know if this one works :/

No, that sounds pretty normal for your CPU. What about GPU temperature?

My GPU I use MSIAfterBurner turn the fan speed to 75 and it goes to 50-70 while playing

Do any other HL2 games crash? You mentioned GMod, but have you tested the original HL2, or TF2, or Portal, etc.

Um let me install TF2 aand I'll tell you if it crashes. I'll play it for like an hour. EDIT: I played for like 30 mins on all high no issues. I was playing a pretty big map with like 10v9.... I really don't understand why HL2 has to be like this.EDIT2: Forgot to tell you I contacted the Dev of that mod and I'm still waiting for him to say something.

So it's something that the cinematic mod is doing differently from any other HL2 mod. Hmm. Hopefully FakeFactory can help you, because I'm out of ideas...
