CPU discoloration, and does not work

The bottom where some of the contacts were darker around the edges, and the resistors were dull in color, as in not as shiny as a newer cpu. i OC'd to 4.4 just fine with no issues booting or starting up ever, and no issues during computer usage or any caution messages. I took it out to do some work and such, only difference is from every other potential ive read so far, is that mine does not work anymore. No actual burn marks on the IHS or anywhere else. Any other ideas on what could be a factor of this?

I can't tell anything from the pictures, really. Also, a shorted out cpu will stop functioning way before there are any burn marks.
I'd just clear CMOS and see if it works, but it seems visual inspection is not very accurate when it comes to CPUs.

The shinyness is deceptive. I tried cleaning with isopropyl and lint-free material, and the discoloration came off pretty well, but the cpu still does not work. I have a Asus Maximus Gene V mobo, and i get a Q code 55, which means it does not recognize the RAM is installed, and the computer does not post. When i switch cpus, every thing is operational as normal.

i believe i read that somewhere about it, i didnt clean it then instantly test it. I let it sit overnight after using a bit of air and air drying overnight. nothing sparked or any burn marks still even after the way i did it.

from other research i have gathered, there could be potential bent pins on the mobo itself. but if so, how could one cpu not work after 1 removal, but another work flawlessly. Both are 1155 configurations.

the problem is the CPU not the socket. Is it possible the darker corner had a cooler sitting too tight on it? i heard that too much pressure in the one of corners (depends obviously where the memory controller is) can damage the CPU. You said it gets an error code that correlates to not being able to read RAM so maybe that makes sense.

1st photo is my working i5 on the left, and troubleshot i7 on the right. Notice the i5 configuration contacts in the middle look newer, compared to the i7 which seems way worn out even though ive had it for a much lesser time period.

2nd photo is my mobo processor pins. i used a magnifying glass and headlamp lighting to check up close, but seems nothing is bent out of order or even appearing odd.
