CPU even worst after thermal compound?

So I have just recently reapplied thermal compound to the stock Intel Cooler cause I realized that the temps were a bit hit than before so I took it out cleaned up the thermal paste then reapplied Arctic Silver 5 and put everything back together. However when I turned my PC on the CPU fan was very loud and when I played some games it felt like it was worst+the fan was so so loud. I haven't checked the temps yet but by just feeling the PC it's getting pretty hot. I didn't use too much thermal compound nor did I use too little it was just a dot. I have an Intel Core I5 6500+GTX 1060 please help me!!! Thankss

EDIT: Thanks to The_Staplergun I have fixed it after reapplying thermal paste and seating all the corners down as they we really look earlier and I think only clipped down 1.

Did you assure that the heatsink was seated on all four corners? If the fans louder it might have been knocked or its not tightened. That's my thoughts.

Yes I have saw that it is seated correctly and all 4 corners are in.
