Question CPU Fan and PS Fan Side by Side

So, I bought a new power supply recently and it has an air intake fan on the bottom. I've read in other threads that it should be facing down, not up and that's what I did.
the problem is that PS mounts at the top of the case and CPU fan and PS fan end up really close to each other.
will this affect performance negatively, cause some kind of damage to the PC even?

Yeah, that was VERY common back before cases started having cutouts for the PSU fan to face outward. No problem.

What case do you have?
