CPU fan bearing is going

Hi,

I've found out my CPU fan bearing is going, it still works brand new but I have to tap it in place for a loud noise to stop after switching on the PC after around 10 hours. Could it damage the PC if the fan wasn't replaced? I'm not getting any heating issues, and the PC is a month old.

It's a Super Quiet 22dBA triple copper heatpipe cooler

If the fan was to fail, the system could overheat.

I would replace the fan if you can(if you can just remove the fan from the cooler fans are cheaper than a new cooler most times.). Try to get a 4 pin PWM(not molex/LP4) fan to ensure maximum fan speed control on modern boards.

Well I got the company to send me a new fan. But I've never actually built a computer or even taken anything out for that matter, so I wouldn't know where to start when they send this new one lol

If looks like the fan just has clips to hold it on. These clips are either released from the fan or the heatsink it self. Depends on what is more easy.

It does not look as fool proof as Noctua's clips, but it should not be too hard. I would try to unclip from the top then slide the fan and clips down to release.
