CPU Fan Bracket

Hey, i bought a AMD fx 8370 with a wraith color. I got in march 5th, my birthday, and ever since my cooler has been sitting on top of my cpu because i have ordered numerous mounts for the fan, but no screws will fit into the motherboard. So my pc lays flat on the ground because of if i put it up, the cpu fan will fall because its sticking to the cpu right now. Please help.

Do you know where i could get screws for am3+ gigabyte?

Is that original Wraith cooler that came with processor ? They don't screw to MB, they maunt with 2 clips to plastic cooler holders on top of MB. Which exact MB is that and is it new ?

yes its the original one it came with. And maybe a year old.

So it clips on same as old coolers, there should be no problem with installation. Hook the one without handle first, part with handle second (hold handle up) and than lower it down until it clicks.

Ah, that's the problem, why didn't you say so. That part fits from all MBs since first AM2 socket and is same for all MBs. You can get it from some broken MB with sockets AM2, AM2+,AM3, AM3+ and FM1 and FM2. They are all same.

They screw in the backplate behind the MB, don't you have that ?

Too short or wrong thread/diameter ? Should be able to find some in a hardware store.

Take back plate to a HW store and find screws that fit in the threads, thre's no screws made just for computers they are all normal, standard screws, those are likely 3mm fine thread.
