Hello. I bough my pc about two and a half years ago and just recently I realised that in the store where I bought it, they connected cpu fan connector to chassis fan. While there is an option to control te speed of cpu fan and chassis fan, I'm not sure if the second option actually does anything.
Last week I bought rx5600xt and temps of my cpu(ryzen 1500x) are gone up. Sometimes above 80 deegres. I don't know what is max speed of that cooler but the max I get is around 2100rpm.
So my question is, would there be any difference if I connect cpu cooler to it's place? Or it doesn't matter. I did adjust the speed(procentages actually) on chassis options a little higher but it didn't help
Also, I'm planing to buy 2 fans. Can I expect that cpu temp will drop with them?

Solution
You should immediately correct that wiring mistake. The cpu fan is not moving according to the temp sensor--the case fan is! And the case fan isn't cooling your cpu.

You should see a dramatic difference if the cpu fan wasn't being properly 'spun up' as the temps increased. I would try this before buying anything.
