Hi, I recently reset the CMOS battery on my motherboard (a fault with ram modules that's since been fixed). I've been getting a CPU fan error message on startup on the American Trends screen. I can bypass it by going into BIOS and booting directly from there into desktop. Problem is, CPU fan still registers N/A in BIOS and I'm noticing a very high fan sound coming from my case.

I'm using a Neptune 240 liquid cooler and this has never happened until today. CPU fan speed normally registers at around 500rpm in BIOS at startup. Currently monitoring the temperature using Core Temp on desktop.

I'm certain I've plugged in the correct fan pins on the motherboard. This build was completed around December of last year and this is the first time I've received this error.

Asus TUF H370 pro board
i5-8600k cpu
16GB DDR4 RAM
Asus R9-290x graphics card (currently running on iGPU)
Neptune 240 cooler
Windows 10 64 bit
Corsair TX650 psu

Did you mean "Cooler Master NeptOn 240m" ? See if you can find in BIOS "Ignore CPU fan error". Other possible problems:
Specs say 800-2400rpm so 500 may be too slow.
It's 3pin fan so it should be set as DC (voltage) control, not PWM in BIOS.
