CPU Fan Error, Press F1 to run setup. American Megatrends

I first received this error message a few weeks ago on startup and was confused as I am now. I didn't know what to do and still don't. It happened for the 5th time today. Each time I tried raising the CPU fan speed but it did nothing. I am completely lost. I would really appreciate some insight. Thank you.

I suspect the fan is not always providing RPM feedback to the BIOS, and the BIOS thinks the cooler is missing. It may also be the BIOS itself that is defective. Replace the aftermarket cooler with the original cooler and see if it still happens.
