CPU Fan Error, Press F1 to run setup

I have read other post on this question, but they didn't resolve my problem. I just received this error message for the first time on startup. What should I do first? Press F1 for setup, or how do I shut the computer off to check the CPU fan? Thank you very much.

Shut the computer off and have a look inside. Some motherboards don't like if the fan is spinning too slowly, which bigger fans on aftermarket coolers tend to do compared to stock coolers, but you can manually set the alarms for fan RPM in the BIOS.
