Just installed a coolermaster 212 evo. When I start my pc up I get directed to a screen by American Megatrends. It says "CPU fan error!"
When I run my setup by pressing F1 it takes me to my BIOS. After I save the settings it restarts my pc and takes me back to the error screen. Like I said the fan is running like it should.
My specs:
Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1 Motherboard
Intel i5 4570 (3.2 GHZ)
EVGA GTX 970 ssc
G.Skill Sniper 8GB
Seagate HDD 1TB (7200 RPM)
Windows 7 64-bit
Rosewill Hive 650 watt PSU (80+ Bronze)
Coolermaster 212 Evo

The "CPU fan error" can be solved by updating this motherboard to latest BIOS version.

This has been official confirmed by ASUS and the solution is provided here - https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1006064/

Upgrading the BIOS to Version 2101, solves this issue:

Cheers!

Before updating the bios, Be sure your CPU fan is plugged in teh the proper CPU fan header. The proper one is usually marked as CPU_Fan. The sabertooth boards have 2 fan headers, 1 marked CPU_fan and the 2nd marked CPU_OPT. Be sure the fan is plugged in to the CPU_fan header and not the OPT header.

Thanks! Yeah I just did that and it works 😀 I was so excited to install the new heatsink that I didn't pay any attention to the fact that I put it into the optional cpu fan header. Easy fix!
