Question cpu fan error?

i just installed for the first time a cpu water cooler corsair hydro series h115i. And when i strated the computer i got i think 3 beeps and it says cpu fan error. it lets me boot the computer and i can see that the water cooler is working but the gpu fan is not running. when i started the computer the gpu fan started to run for a sec then competently stopped. But the computer still boots?

What are your full computer specs?

As far as the GPU fan, its normal that it spins up and stops, the fans only turn on when needed.

yeah im really confused first time installing a water cooler the gpu fans did turn on once i started a game.

right now the problem that i have is that i am getting this cpu fan error when i boot my computer but all the fans are working?

What are you specs, specifically the motherboard, that way I can tell you where the cooler should be hooked up.

my motherboard is a asustek M5A97 R2.0. everything is hooked up and working right now i was able to play a game and the temps went down. But i still get i think 3 beeps when i boot and this cpu fan error comes up.

all of my fans are working still and i still get this cpu fan error when i boot. It makes me go to the setup screen and then i can discard changes and exit and boot like normal.

Are you certain the fan cable is plugged into the CPU_FAN header and NOT the CHA_FAN?

If you are sure of that then the only thing I can think of is going into the BIOS and where ever the monitor for the fans is(never used that BIOS so IDK) and set it to ignore that fan.
