Recently, the CPU fan on my computer ceased to start spinning when powering up the computer. It looks to me that it for some reason is subjected to a lot of friction, because when I turn off the computer, it stops spinning quite abruptly, whereas the case fan on the back slows down for a couple of more seconds before it completely stops.
I am able to make the fan start spinning if I help it out, and if I turn on the computer shortly after shutting it down, the fan will start up on its own.
The fan is attached to a Hyper EVO 12, with which it came along.
Is there something I can do about this, or am I forced to acquire a new fan? I’ve had this CPU cooler for only two years, so it would be a shame if I have to replace its fan already.
