i just received my new motherboard after replacing my faulty one. booted up to bios however the CPU_FAN1 was turning the fan on and off. i wanted to see if it was the actual socket so i put my case fan connectors in there as well and it did the same thing. do i have to replace my motherboard again? thanks for your help.

Yes, it seems that the CPU Fan header is faulty. However before returning the motherboard:

1)Try to test all the available CPU fan setting in the BIOS and check if it changes anything.

2)Try to update the BIOS to its latest version (if you can do it).

3)Try to reset the CMOS and load the BIOS default setting just in case this is a BIOS bug.

If nothing works, return the motherboard. Good luck.
