So theirs been this issue that has been plaguing this laptop for a long time. I don't if these kinds of laptops had this issue when they were released by cpu fan would always churn up over the slightest task given like opening Chrome or playing a game. I understand that sometimes it happens, but it's getting rather annoying to use a third party accessory to try to keep this thing cool. Would it be possible and maybe a fix to replace the CPU fan with a new one? I have Windows 10 on it, and the laptop is a HP dv6-6135dx. It's still a functionally laptop that someone would get basic enjoyment out of, I'm just curious if I can fix this annoyance with a possible replacement, like these I have found on ebay.

Yeah, we have an HP dv6t (Intel version with no dGPU). Same issue. Gotta keep that heatsink well dusted. If we used it more, I might be more apt to take the heatsink off and re-apply thermal paste, but meh.

It's not really the fan's fault. The fan itself doesn't dictate what rpm it spins at. The motherboard does that. So as long as the fan it's making unusual grinding (etc) noises, there's nothing gained by replacing it.
