CPU fan on my MSI GS65 Stealth laptop started making a grinding noice today.

Here is a video with the noise

Not sure if the fan just needs to be cleaned. I took it apart and air dusted the fan in question, it was not very dirty at all. And it did not help with the noise.

The CPU heat levels seem to be higher than before the noise and fluctuate, but have not gone above 67c when idle yet.

Based off the noise it seems like it needs to be replaced.

The laptop is fairly new, only had it for a year and a half or so. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

I have a coworker who has one of these and he also had fan problems. He replaced the fans and it was fine, for a bit, then the new fan started to fail. I think the fans are just a poor design. Who knows, you might get lucky on your first replacement and get a good one. I think after starting to make noise it was a couple months before it just stopped.
