Question CPU fan not working on b450 a pro max

Hello, as the title says when i enable smart fan mode in bios it just doesn’t spin at all if disable it it just keeps on full speed which is loud. Any help appreciated

edit: mobo - b450 a pro max, ryzen 5 3600, 16gb Hyperx 3200, Rx 480 xfx, power supply cooler master 500w, noctua nhu12s.

Ive tried swapping the stock amd cooler and the same thing happens and when i enable smart fan mode it doesn’t spin and under stock setting it goes max speed.

I dont have another computer to test it but ive tries it in a different fan socket and the same thing

ANd i think the problem is with the motherboard as the other system fan headers work fine just the cpu fan header

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS.

Fan: make, model, age?

Do you have another known working fan that you can swap in to test?

Or some way to try the existing CPU fan in another known working computer?

Determine if the problem follows the fan or stays with the computer.
