CPU fan not working

Hello!

The cpu fan on my computer is not spinning. I have bought a new heatsink and also tried plugging it into the system fan header but it still doesn't work.

Wondering if anyone knows what it could be!

Is it a new fan? Two possibilities, the CPU fan itself is broken (bad) or the motherboard is broken (unlikely, but worse). Try plug a system fan into the cpu fan slot and see if it spins. If so, your CPU fan is likely broken. Keep a heatsink on the CPU while running this test, we wouldn't want overheating.

Sorry yeah it was a new fan.
I tried the cpu fan in the system fan slot and it still didn't work.

Also, my system fans are a different type of connector (3 pin) will it still work?

Not sure what the problem was but I tried the new fan again today and it's working!
