[SOLVED] Cpu fan port not working

Hi,
When I tried turning pc on it doesn't. So I checked inside and saw cpu fan wasn't spinning. It was connected to cpufan1 port. It was named 1 so thought there might be second port but there wasn't but there are two cha_fan ports. If I connect fan to chassis port pc is turning on.
I leaned by reading that cpu port varies fan speed depending on cpu temp and chassis port runs on highest speed.
So my question is should I connect fan to chassis port and continue using pc? Or should I try getting cpu port fixed?

Edit:
Mobo asrock h170m pro4
Cpu i5 6500
Gigabyte gtx 1060 gpu
Antec 550Watt psu

Solution
If you can't get warranty and one of the chassis fan ports works, you could theoretically plus into that and tell the system if the CPU temp gets to high to turn off. If you do that route though, then in bios, I'd try to find that fan header and tell it always run full speed. It does sound like a new board may be the best fix though.
Hi,
Thanks for replying. I'm not sure how to reply. Hope I'm doing it right.

So after reading your mail, I kept using PC with fan in chassis fan port 1. But same problem started again after day or two.
What happens is after shutting down PC and trying to turn it on it doesn't. Cpu fan won't start. But once in while it does but most of the times it doesn't start. So sometimes fan did start in cpu fan port. So ports aren't problem, I think.
So I thought my stock cpu cooler is dead. So I got new one today. And same thing is happening with new one too.
I tried cmos reset, Removing gpu disconnecting everything else only keeping essentials attached. Nothing works.
Once in while though same as before it does start. New one started twice, In cpu port.
What should I do?

Contacted local store. Not helpful at all. Asrock is taking time to reply.
Meanwhile I'm somewhat sure problem isn't with ram, sdd, hdd, cpu, cpu cooler, gpu.
I'm uncertain about if the fault is with motherboard or psu.
Anyway to be sure about that?
I tried screw driver technique to power on. But no use.
I've read somewhere about motherboard led. Where is it located generally? I am not finding any. I'm not sure I'd there is led on mobo and it isn't turning on or there wasn't one to begin with.

Solution
Firstly thanks for replying. You're great help.
Warranty is till June this year.
Thing is I'm not exactly sure if problem is in mobo or psu.
Cpu fan sometimes work sometimes doesn't in any port cpu or chassis. Just now after two days pc is on with pin in cpu port. So ports doesn't seem to be issue.
Should I try and get other psu and see if problem is persisting? Only thing is sometimes fan is starting without any problem.

What I'm saying is fan works on all ports cpu as well as chassis. Only thing is consistency. If it is starting in cpu port then it'll most likely start in chassis poet as well. If it doesn't in one then it doesn't work in all ports neither cpu nor chassis.

Why is sometimes work why sometimes it doesn't I don't know. That's what I have to find out somehow.

Psu is 2.5 years old as well as mobo. Both have warranty till June.

One thing I noticed cpu fan turns on if PC is off for few hours. But if I try turning it on after shutting down for ~1-30 minutes it won't turn on.
What might be causing it?
