CPU fan short circuit

Hi, I was building my first PC using a Gigabyte z97x-gaming 7, a i7 4790K and a GTX980
when I connected the CPU fan to the motherboard (NZXT Kraken X31). I connected it in a wrong way, and there was a short circuit, now the cpu fan connector is not working, I can deal with the damaged motherboard, but I want to know if other parts could be damaged like the CPU or the GPU or any other component

Most likely the damage was localized to the motherboard. Most certainly you didn't damage the GPU. The CPU should also be ok.
