No not really,
If the board is monitoring the Cpu temp it will automatically increase the rpm of the fan to keep the heat down that builds up when the cpu is under load.
Mine works at that speed, and can ramp the rpm up to 3000 RPM, if the fan is connected to the cpu fan header of the mobo.
Its fine.
If you want to set a faster speed manual assign the speed profile of the fan in rpm in your mobo bios, most boards support the option to manualy set a fixed rpm if required.
