CPU FAN stopping and buzzer/beep

Just got my new mobo tis a gigabyte DS3P. Just installing XP at the moment and the beeper keeps going off. I took the side off to let in some colder air and noticed when the buzzer sounds the CPU fan is stopped. I recall looking at the bios earlier to check temps and change settings and recall turning on something like CPU fan alarm. Is it possible that the CPU fan is being controlled by a sensor so turning off when not needed and this causing the alarm? It only stops for about a seccond or 2 and then starts again. When I first check the CPU temps it was running at 26C so I think I put the HSF on properly. Your advice is apreciated.

26c is pretty low for CPU but i mean wut i think is that the CPU fan should ALWAYS be running..

Cracked it. Disabled a "SMART fan" in the bios. Beeper now only sounds when turning on pc. Its a bit of a stupid design flaw if you ask me. However, Id rather have a fan always on and the emergency alarm on than the otherway round. Both together just gives you a headache!
