Cpu fan stuck to motherboard

So, The pins that holds the cpu fan in place are stuck to the motherboard. Im trying to remove them and i've got it loose from the cpu by twisting it gently.

So basically the cpu fan is loose but the pins that i can pull up and down are stuck to the motherboard.

I've turned the pins so thats not the problem.

If you're talking about a push-pin Intel stock cooler, try removing the motherboard. You should see the stakes coming out the other side of the board. Squeeze them together and pull them out.

Also, try twisting them the other way. The markings can be a bit confusing.

Do i really have to remove the whole motherboard? Can you take a look at the videos i just posted of my problem

Uh... pull up on the black bits.

Thanks for looking but found a solution - I just cut the tips off the plastic retainers at the back of the motherboard (accessed in-situ from the other side of the case)

Cooler happier CPU now
