Question CPU fan touching GPU + AIO question.

Hello everyone!

I built this PC in December, and have been using it since then.

I have recently realized, however, that there are two concerns that I believe may affect the lifespan of the system.

My first concern is that my case exhaust fan is touching my GPU (however only on the metal section) as seen in image 1. It has been running for 3 months, and I have recently removed the case fan, with the only noticeable effect being a slight scuff on the fan. There seems to be a small amount of pressure between the GPU and the case fan, but nothing major. Could this be a long term issue, and should I change case or get a thinner 120mm fan?

My second concern is that my AIO water cooler cables lie across my vertically mounted gpu. The cables come from the CPU block, touch the backplate and then touch the plastic shroud before going up to the radiator. Will this cause any problems? The cables are not directly touching the heatsink.

Thanks to everyone for the help!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Pertaining to the rear exhaust fan, you're not in harms way. Pertaining to the AIO's tubing run, might want to take a picture of the build from a distance to help show where and how the AIO is mounted with respect to the chassis. Form what you've included, you might want to rotate the block so that the tubes exist the side of the memory modules, that shoulda void the tubes running atop of the discrete GPU.

Make and model of your discrete GPU, AIO and your chassis?

Thank you for the reply!

My GPU is the Gigabyte Aero 16gb RTX 4080
My AIO is the NZXT Z53.
My case is the NZXT H5 Elite.

First "problem" with exhaust fan is not a problem but you would have to take fan out to pull GPU out, just inconvenience. AIO hoses ob the other hand seem ,to push on GPU and make it sag so that could be a problem. Maybe you cab tie them up so they don't do that ? I would. Looks a bit crowded in there, is that some mini/micro build ?

Nope, it's not a micro build, it's a NZXT H5 elite, so a reasonable mid tower I think 😁
The hoses can easily be moved and don't seem to be putting any major pressure on the GPU, but I might try and cable tie them.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi!

So, is it ok if I leave it in this current position, or can I return it to the original position, as in the current position the hoses do look a little stressed!

Thank you!
