cpu fan turns on for 1 second and then shuts down

Hi There

I've had this system for 4-5 years never had an issue, suddenly went to turn it on and the CPU fan kicked in for about a second and then system shuts down

Below is my Rig, nothing has been touched or overclocked (only when I bought the system)
Anyone have any clue

im thinking either mobo or cpu is cactus

MOBO: ASUS Z87I-PRO (1150 Socket)

CPU: Quad core i5 4670K Haswell

RAM: G.SKILL 2 x 4GB 1866 MHz

GPU: 2GB Geforce GTX 760

PSU: 650W 80Plus platinum Antec

Remove the GPU and plug into the MB graphics and see if it will start.

I had a Gigabyte MB that was doing that. Turned out to be a corrupted BIOS. Had to do the BIOS recovery procedure to get it stable and running again.

if it not the gpu then you lost a leg on the power supply see if you can find a test unit.

thank you, im about to finish work , so I will do process of elimination and provide feedback, I wonder if all fans kick in at once when machine boots up or if its in sequence, from what I recall, my cpu fan always started first, followed by case fans and then my GPU fan.

on most systems the cpu fan will power up first to keep the cpu from melting. the gpu fan on most rigs will spin up to 100 percent as a fan check the nslow down.
