Greetings, I've been trying to upgrade the cpu fan from a backup pc I'm currently using. I removed the stock malfunctioning 7yo fan and I want to replace it with a hyper tx3i with locks instead of screws. The problem is the cpu backplate which appears to be stuck in the back of the motherboard

From a hesitant attempt it seems that it's glued on the back of the mobo.Is there a way to remove it without damaging the mobo at this point?

Solution
Is the distance between the holes on the OEM heatsink identical to the TX3? If mounting the TX3 using the screws can't be done, then you'll have to remove the backplate. If the mounting posts are not holding the backplate, then you should be able to remove it without breaking the motherboard (waiting until it's warm may make it easier to break the glue). It has been done on other OEM motherboards, but that one seems slightly different.

Yes the distance is the same. The backplate is glued and the screw mounts can pass through the holes. I guess I'll attempt heating it up since it's the solution that has come up most times.Thank you.
