Hi, which AMD cpu do u recommend for 4 cards setup? I want it for a slave machine for renders so i dont need something high end, i just need something stable.
Thoughts? thanks

Cheapest Threadripper? That would get you the lanes and ECC support. Any old HEDT Xeon? What's wrong with the i7-3930k you've got listed there? Maybe upgrade that computer, buy a Xeon for it, and do that?

Ryzen CPUs also support ECC, so that is an option as well, I suppose, but only going to have x16 lanes for graphics.

Hey guys, my budget is not for a threadripper. This machine will be used as render slave and not as workstation. I dont mind low pci speeds. I was looking at ryzen 7 series so any thoughts there?

I agree with Lutfij. There isn't a mainstream offering available that fits your need for pcie lanes.
It's either Threadripper or an X299 I9, and from the sound of things, both are out of your budget.
Only other thing to say past that is to save up.

Am4 and lga1151 arent going to offer many pcie lanes.

Will need hedt for that.
