CPU for a gaming PC

Hi Guys,

I'm fairly new to PC building having built only built one before, and that wasn't a gaming pc. I'm now looking to build a gaming computer for the first time and have got most of the parts including a GTX 1070 (got a really good deal on amazon!). The question is, given I don't want to overclock, what CPU should i buy to give me the best performance (gaming being the most intensive thing i'm going to do) at the least cost without bottlenecking the GPU. After an initial look online it looks to be an i5, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Get a i5 7500 setup with a nice B250 board and some DDR4 2400 modules.
