CPU for CAD SOLIDWORKS 2600X VS I5 9600K OR I5 8600

Hi Guys

I am in kind of a tight budget, to build a ok machine for cad work .

Is mainly for Solidworks , most of the time creating isolated parts , sometimes work with SimulationXpress and FloXpress , some MS Office work and web browsing .

Getting a i7 would strain my budget , plus in my region i have limited hw choices

In my price range i could get

2600X + ASUS PRIME B450M *cheapest option

The I5-9600K and i5-8600 are at almost the same price.
So i could use the 9600k on a MSI B360M BAZOOKA and forget about the overclock .

2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB 2400Mhz
memory is still a problem... anything over 2400 is too expensive .

and finally a QUADRO P600

You'll probably need a bios update on the b360 to get the 9600k to work which will require an 8yh gen cpu to be installed in the board


The 9600k will perform betterthan the 2600x most of the time with cad out side of some of the rendering tests

Just remember, since multi core is now heavily invested in, software companies are changing the way things work.
By 2020, everything will support multithreaded cores.

With the huge bug that's been found within windows itself relating to multicore problems, hopefully that will be fixed by the end of 2019.
