I'm looking for a CPU that wouldn't make a huge bottleneck with GTX 970.Currently I have an I3 2100 with FCLGA1155 socket. I need something in the range of 200€ I l'm thinking of buying used I5 2500K then overclock it or just buy brand new i5-3570S. Are any of those good idea?

current specs:
GPU: GTX 970
CPU: I3 2100 3.10GHz
RAM: 8Gb Dual-channel
MOBO: Gigabyte H61M-D2-B3 (rev. 1.0)
PSU: Seasonic S12II-620 80 Bronze 620W

Solution

That is very strange.

On the three sites that I've look at, 1a.lt, fortakas.lt, and skytech.lt, I can't find one non-power reduced chip from the LGA1155 socket.

I guess you have no option then. But rest assure that the i5-3570S is still a good processor...

If you don't mind buying a new Z170 motherboard, you could put up an i5-6400 for $180, put a $20 Coolermaster Evo 212 ontop of it and overclock to 4.5Ghz+. Or do the same with a cheaper i3-6100. I've got my GTX 970 with an overclocked FX-6300, and I'd love to upgrade, but what bottleknecking I do get is slight enough that I still can't justify it.

What country are you from? This will help me determine the correct pricing for the parts.

Generally speaking, a Sandy Bridge i5 would not bottleneck the 970.

The i5-3570S is a less powerful version of the i5-3570 meaning it was less popular when it was still in production. Thus, because of the limited supplies of theses 3570S, it might be cheaper to purchase a new 3570 than a new 3570S.

I'm from Lithuania. I haven't seen any version other than 3570S and 3570T

If you do decide to buy an Ivy Bridge i5, you might have to update the BIOS because the motherboard probably does not currently support the Ivy Bridge chip without an update. BIOS updates can be tricky and scary sometimes if your BIOS menu does not give you a direct way of updating the BIOS.
