Hello,

My friend is about to upgrade his PC, he wants his PC for gaming, movies, and for programming.

He wants to buy an i7 4th/5th gen cpu, I tell him it's a waste of money since he can do everything with just about same performance with the i5-4690

am I correct ?

What programming could possibly require i7 ? however "big" his multi-tasking will be.. ?

Hello

It depends on what type of programming he is doing, but if he is upgrading he might as well jump to the highest tier PC he can afford to give him a little headroom for the years to come. There is nothing wrong with an i5-4690, but if he is keen on getting the latest and has the money, then I would say go for it.

Hope this helps :)
