CPU For The GTX 960

Hey.
I purchased an MSI GTX 960 2gb GPU about 7 months ago.
But my CPU is bottlenecking the card.
i have a GIGABYTE F2A55M-HD2 Motherboard.
I have a AMD A8-6600K CPU.
Please suggest me a good CPU that won't bottleneck the GPU AT ALL.

What CPU do you have now?

There are no FM2+ CPUs that will not struggle in some games. If you already have a quad core, any upgrade will require a new motherboard and RAM, since yours is a dead-end.

There are no significant upgrades for your existing motherboard. drinkingcola86's recommendation is a solid one, and you're not going to get any real upgrade for much less.

I massively doubt your a8 6600k is holding back a gtx 960 by much (if at all) unless your running 720p & are expecting 100fps+.

They're fairly well paired IMO.

I can think of a few games where the A8 would limit the performance of a GTX 960 2GB, at 1080p.

But for more data, I would like to hear in which games OP is seeing bottlenecks. Also to see if OP has done proper testing, checking CPU+GPU utilisation and has come to the correct conclusion that the GPU is being bottlenecked.
