Hi all!

I just wanted to ask if there will be any improvement on FPS on WatchDogs if I change my CPU.

I have an AMD Phenom II x4 955, and I want to change my MoBo and upgrade to FX 6300.
I also have 16GB RAM 1600MHz and AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB VRAM and I am only getting between 25-33 FPS on Ultra or High settings...

So I was just wondering if there would be any improvement if I change the CPU.
Salutes!

I've seen very varied results regarding watch dogs.

Here, there's hardly any difference between a quad and hex FX CPU.

Here, the difference is larger.

In any case you'd probably see some form benefit from a CPU upgrade, and if you want USB3 then it may be worthwhile to you. Can I ask which motherboard you have? If you have an aftermarket CPU cooler then overclocking may make more sense than upgrading.

IMO an i3 4xxx makes more sense than an FX. The AM3+ platform for AMD is dead, whereas you could have a decent upgrade path from an i3.

And by all means wait for other answers, I'm not the be-all and...
It's weird because I see a lot of benchmarks with my video card stating the get 50FPS on Ultra...
I any other case I will upgrade so I can get USB 3.0 which my current MoBo lacks of.
Thanks, I will wait for other replies just in case :)

I know, the optimization of the game does not make any sense, Ubisoft really screwed us all with this one.
In any case I also know that the game is better optimized for NVIDIA cards which I don't want to buy any.

Here is my Mobo: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A88TDM/
And as stated before my CPU is Phenom II x4 955

I also noted that it makes no sense to get the 8 core FX as its not that big of a difference from the 6300 regarding GAMES.

for the OS, you can keep the hard drive, and keep the disc if you want, but you have to call microsoft and tell them you switched motherboarda. they will give you a verification code to enter, and then you're fine.
